Why we do not ask for consent
Under the UK Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations and the EU ePrivacy Directive, consent is required for storage that is not strictly necessary for a service the user has requested. A single flag recording that you dismissed a notice is strictly necessary for that notice to behave correctly, and it identifies nobody. There is nothing else to consent to, so we do not ask, and we do not show a “preferences” panel that configures nothing.
Removing it
Closing the tab or browser removes it, and so does clearing site data for this domain. The only effect is that the notice banner appears again the next time you open the site.
